Ada, OH: January 8, 2015 -- Mobile Witness™, an international provider of digital video recording and surveillance solutions, announced the availability of its OBD-II GPS Asset Tracking Unit designed for easy and reliable installation in automobiles and light-duty vehicles where access to vehicle diagnostics is required. The MW-3030 features small size, superior GPS performance, OBD-II interface, backup battery, and a 3-axis accelerometer. It is designed to reduce cost, power, and size dramatically while significantly improving field reliability.

The MW-3030 can access vehicle diagnostic interface data, track vehicle speed and location, plus detect hard braking, cornering, acceleration and capture pre- and post-impact data. Superior internal antennas for both cellular and GPS eliminate the need for professional installation and make installation of the MW-3030 quick, easy and inexpensive. Messages are transported across the cellular network using enhanced SMS or UDP messaging, providing a reliable communications link between the device and application servers. The MW-3030 also employs an industry-leading on-board alert engine that monitors external conditions and supports customer-defined exception-based rules to meet the needs of any application.
